FAQS

Information on our kayak tours

I have never kayaked before, can I still come on a tour?

Absolutely, one of the best ways to first try kayaking is with an experienced guide. Paul and Alex have decades of experience in introducing people to kayaking and will make sure you are given enough support to enjoy your tour.

When you book a tour, we will ask a few questions to get a feel for what you hope to see and learn on the tour. We will also ask some questions to guage your previous kayaking experience and fitness level. We do this to match you with the right boat and tailor your tour to suit.

How fit do I need to be?

A moderate level of fitness will make your tour more comfortable. The half day tour is designed to be accessable to beginners and is relatively easy. Feel free to give us a call to discuss if you are unsure.

What should I bring?

Sunscreen, towel, hat, change of clothes, bathers, waterproof camera and a sense of adventure.

How safe is sea kayaking?

Very safe, our guides are expert kayakers and have decades of experience in running tours, expeditions and training beginner kayakers. We take every care to ensure our guests are safe and comfortable whilst on a tour. We a perfect safety record.

Our maximum guide to participant ratio is 1 guide to 5 guests (this is an industry standard). You will always have the support and safety of an experienced and enthusiastic guide

What will we see on the tour?

Every Tour is different, the tides, the weather, and the time of year all play a part in what wildlife we see on a trip

We often see turtles, fish, and sea birds. Occasional Dugon or dolphin sightings are always a favourite.

Kayaking gives you a unique perspective on the region, you are up close and personal with the wildlife, the views to the rainforest are spectacular. We are locals, with a passion for the area and sharing what we know with our guests.

How are you different from other kayak tours?

We are kayakers, we love kayaking and the region. Because of this, we like to offer a more personalised experience for our guests. We match boats, locations and itineries to suit our guests and the weather on the day. This is not a standard tour, where you will be part of the crowd.

If you are keen on learning more about kayaking, just let us know and we can incorporate some additional kayaking skills into the day.

What age range do you allow on your tours.

Children must be 14 years of age or older on the day of the tour, children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

There is no maximum age for guests, if you feel comfortable with moderate physical exercise and are healthy we will welcome you on our tour. We have taken out octogenarians (for there first time kayaking).

I don't have a waterproof camera, do you take photos?

Absolutely, we carry a waterproof camera and take photos along the way. We can email these to you at the end of the tour.
